Avatar Press’

I’m a zombie junkie, and since I’ve been making weekly pilgrimages to A-1 Comics the last couple weeks I have been picking up the current issues of Avatar PressLiving Dead books and I have to say those are some confusing books to collect. The story, dialog and art are grotesquely amazing, but each sub-series (and there seems to be a new one every week) has a bunch of different covers with different artists. I’ve found current issues of at least three different series, which have crossovers in storyline, but as far as I can tell, don’t necessarily follow the same linear timeline. Avatar’s Living Dead series is set in the late 60s or early 70s and has thematic elements similar to George A. Romero and John A. Russo’s Living Dead series, which is appropriate, since both Romero and Russo are connected creatively with the Avatar series.
